The Wines

Each bottle of our wine from Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune expresses all the greatness of its terroir. It is the result of both a meticulous work at the vines and a real know-how in the cellar, regarding winemaking and wine ageing. A precise work, adapted to each plot, to keep only the best of it.

A surprising vintage

1 – Meteorological data and progress of the vegetative cycle

The 2025 vintage in Côte de Nuits was marked by particularly favourable weather conditions for working in the vineyards, notably with low pest pressure.

The year 2025 was characterised by a rather early start to vegetation in mid-April, a lacklustre flowering period starting at the end of May with almost summer-like temperatures, followed by a cooling period with rainy spells that led to coulure and millerandage.

This climatic fluctuation continued with an initial heatwave at the end of June, followed by cooler weather in July and then another heatwave lasting until mid-August.

Then the weather was unstable until the end of the harvest, with rainy spells, especially at night, sometimes resulting in significant rainfall.

However, as the bunches were small and fairly sparse, with very thick skins due to the heatwaves, the grapes remained in perfect health and there was no dilution effect. This resulted in yields that were down by an average of 25 to 30%.

2 – Harvest, Vinification, and Aging

The harvest took place from 28 August to 9 September, an early period but one that is becoming increasingly common.

Despite the changing weather conditions, the grapes, harvested manually in small 15 kg open-sided crates, were in very good condition and had reached a good level of ripeness without being overripe. A light sorting process was nevertheless carried out systematically to select only the best bunches and remove any leaves and a few unripe grapes.

Alcoholic fermentation proceeded smoothly and was followed fairly quickly by malolactic fermentation.

To date, all our wines, both white and red, are in barrels to continue ageing in our cellars for many months.

3 – Tasting

Despite the unusual weather conditions, the wines are surprising because they are not affected by the heat, are not overly alcoholic and have good body.

The first tastings therefore indicate a promising vintage.

Red wines are colourful, with fresh red and/or black fruit and dense but rounded tannins.

The whites have a beautiful pale gold colour with lovely green highlights. The nose reveals floral notes, hints of citrus and nuances of white-fleshed fruit. The palate is smooth and generous.

In conclusion, a very Burgundian and charming vintage.
